IT Systems Engineer (Canada)
FileCloud is on the lookout for an experienced and hands-on IT Systems Engineer to join our team in Canada. This role will lead and support our IT operations, ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong focus on cybersecurity, compliance, and operational excellence, aligning with industry standards and the nature of FileCloud’s business.
About the Product & Company:
FileCloud is a hyper-secure EFSS (enterprise file sync and share) platform that provides industry leading compliance, data governance, data leak protection, data retention and digital rights management capabilities. FileCloud is a leader in content governance and collaboration for unstructured data, trusted and used worldwide across Global 1000 enterprises, educational institutions, government organizations, and service providers. In addition to its enterprise file sharing solution, FileCloud’s product portfolio also includes Signority (acquired in May 2024), a Canadian-based e-signature and document workflow platform. We are currently expanding our team as we grow and improve FileCloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security
- Oversee the administration of key operational IT applications such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Teams
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO) systems, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) applications
- Provide hands-on IT help desk support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues promptly
- Develop and enforce IT policies to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC2
- Conduct risk assessments and implement best practices to secure IT systems and processes
- Maintain and update IT operations policies
- Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring they align with business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget
- Evaluate third-party applications for functionality, security, and interoperability with existing systems to streamline operational data and support a data-driven culture
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT operations, compliance, and security
- Proven track record in managing IT systems and infrastructure in a cybersecurity or compliance-focused environment
- Strong expertise with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Active Directory, and SSO systems
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC2
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, operational IT tools, and troubleshooting
- Experience with RBAC applications and optimizing system processes
- Knowledge of IT security practices, risk assessments, and audit processes
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience conducting evaluations of third-party applications for functionality, security, and interoperability
- Knowledge of IT automation tools

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT operations, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2), and vendor management, coupled with strong leadership and planning capabilities. They will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT operations, managing key tools and systems, optimizing processes, and driving IT projects that support the company’s business objectives. This role is remote and will require working remotely with other team members.
